Fall...Football...
Well, it's been awhile. Right now Kory is in his glory enjoying college football and attending every BYU game! He has also found a bit of time to go to school in between games :)
This is the end of my 7th week of school and I can't believe it. I am really enjoying myself! Today I had to go to a training and I really just wanted to be with my students instead. It seems like there is always something fun going on at school. We took a field trip up A.F. canyan and met Smokey Bear. You are probably thinking that I left out "the" but the the forest ranger made it very clear that his name is "Smokey Bear" so I thought I would help set things straight:). We've also had grandparents day which was a lot of fun,
and tomorrow is apple day. It's amazing how fast they learn things and how much power I really have as thier teacher.

My parents decided it would be a fun idea to live in thier fifth wheel for a coulpe of weeks in A.F. canyon. Kory and I went up to visit a few times enjoying the leaves along the way. We even stayed over a few nights! Some of my other family members were also able to come up and spend some time. We had a lot of fun playing games and enjoying the campfire!
I love American Fork canyon...especially this time of year when the leaves are changing color.

My Ma and Pa at Cascade Springs.

Just an orange tree I like!

Neat... yellow leaved trees!

I love to see the patches of yellow aspen trees mixed in with the green pine trees.

I spy a little Marianne!

Back to School !
Well, I have been very busy these past few weeks. First getting my room ready and then teaching for the past week and a half. Teaching is going great! I'm so tired by the end of the day, but it has been a lot of fun. On Thursday I had a back to school night for my parents. I was a bit worried about it since I had to talk to 3 different groups of parents for 20 minutes each, but it actually wasn't bad at all. Lets see...I have 26 students. The school I teach at has an A track and a B track. So I teach half of my students from 8:00 to 9:15 then all of my students are there until 2:15. Then the A track goes home and the B track stays at school until 3:30. It kind of crazy, but it suppose to help give each student more one of one time with me. It's a pretty tricky schedule to get used to for me and my students. It seems strange to have a real job and to have 26 students counting on me to be there. I have to be at Ridgeline at 7:30 which means I have to wake up at 6:30 at the very latest so I can leave by 7:00. I'm so worried that I'm going to accidently sleep in and my student are going to be standing outside waiting for me to pick them up. :) I hope that never happens.
Since the day I found out I would be teaching first grade I just knew I had to use dinosaurs as my class theme. With the last name Longenecker....I couldn't resist. I made this huge dinosaur and told my students that this type of dinosaur was called a "Longenecker." I also told them that this big dinosaur was me and they were my little dinosaurs. Some of them thought it was so funny and others had no clue why I called it a Longenecker!
Meet Mrs. Longenecker! Oh yeah, I decided to go brown, thanks for your votes!
This dinosaur lists our class dino duties!

These are the windows near my door. Each one of these dinosaurs will have a picture of one of my students in it.
This is my back wall where we will have opening.
My new keeva! It's not mine to keep, but a nice teacher let me barrow it for the year. Now my students will have a place to sit!

This is a special little room attached to my room where my students can hang their coats and backpacks.

Three years and counting!
Kory and I just had our three year anniversary on July 27th! Crazy huh? The time has flown by. I scares me to think about how fast the next three year will go!
Lucky for us, Kory happened to have Monday off this week so we were able to take a fun trip to Virgina and to Washingtion D.C. for our anniversary. We started out visiting Kory's family in Virginia Saturday night and stayed with them until Monday morning. It was nice to spend some time with his family since we don't get to very often.

I love the Washington D.C. Temple, it's so pretty!

We stayed in Washington D.C. on our anniversary night and woke up early to do a session. I was so excited to finally go inside this temple.
Luray Caverns!!!!!! One of the most awesome things we've seen!

So...on our way from Virginia to D.C. we kept seeing huge billboards advertising the Luray Caverns... the largest caverns in the east. I read a few of the billboards to myself and thought that I would have to come back and do that sometime. As we got closer and closer to the exit I asked Kory if he had noticed the billboards. He had and we decided to take a chance and check them out. WOW, what a great decision...it always pays off to be spontaneous! The caverns were huge and filled with all kinds of stalactites....and the tour included an audio tour right on our individual headsets. IF YOU ARE IN VA, GO TO THESE CAVERNS.
We had a great anniversary to say the least.
Fried eggs anyone? Funny how these really do look like fried eggs!
This was one of our favorite parts in the cavern. This picture looks like it has stalactites AND stalagmites in it, but really the bottom half of the picture is all a reflection in a pool of water. This looked so awesome in person!
The audio tour said that the people who discovered the caverns called this little spot the fish market...can you see the fish all hanging in a row?
We went to the driving range with a few of Kory's brothers and I actually hit some pretty good balls...or should I say...drove some good shots..?
Logan, Jaymes, and Kory
We had a picnic at "the river" in Virginia with Kory's family. I wish we would have had more time to throw on own our suits and go for a dip!
Kory's sister Jennie and brother-in-law Alan and their kids were also in Virgina visiting so we were able to spend some time with them too!

Brown or Blonde ?
I need some help deciding....Should I keep my hair the blondish color that it is now, or dye my hair brown? I keep thinking about dying it back brown, which is really the most like my natural hair color, but I also like it blonde. So, I want your vote on whether you think I should keep my hair the color that it is now or dye my hair brown. Here are a few pictures to look at to help you decide! You can place your vote on the side! Thanks ;)

UPDATE
I just wanted to include a little update about Kory and his success! For the month of June Kory's security company had a selling tournament. Each sells guy was matched up with another sells guy within the company. Which ever guy sold the most that week got to move on and be matched up again. Kind of like the NBA playoffs! You are probably asking what they guy gets when they win...well Kory went all the way to the championship round and along the way earned tickets to a Philly's game, a $100.00 dollar gift card to Best Buy, a 19" LCD T.V. and an x-box 360... which he has been wanting for a very long time, but I have been to cheep to buy for him;) The champion of the tourament won a tropical vacation for two. Kory worked so hard and was so close to winning..I'm very proud of him for going so far in the tournament. Right now Kory is on track to get 100 sells which is his summer goal.

Visitors from the west!
My mom and her bestfriend Joy Alldredge decided to fly back east and visit. It worked out great because Joy's son Phil, is also out hear working for Stone Security. So they were able to kill two birds with one stone. We we able to do a lot of fun things in 9 days. We toured downtown Philadelphia, went to Valley Forge, shopped at the King of Prussia Mall, rode a bus to New York and spent two days there, saw the play Wicked, went to visist the Amish people, and went to the Hershey factory. Kory and Phil get every other Monday off so they were able to spend the day with us in Hershey.
It was nice to have visitors! Thanks for coming mom!

So... there is an Amish city in Pennsylvania named "Intercourse", we just had to get a picture!

I even bought a deck of cards that say, "I (heart) Intercourse" :)
