STUDENT TEACHING and mooorrrrrreee!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately. I have been busier than ever. I finally started my student teaching. I never thought I would actually make it to this point. I have been student teaching at Barratt Elementary in American Fork for the past five weeks. My student teaching lasts for 10 weeks, so I am half way finished. My student teaching experience has been going really well. I have been teaching little first graders. They are really cute, but definitely need full time attention and help. For the first two weeks of my student teaching a taught for only part of the day. Since the beginning of my third week I have been teaching full time, without the teacher in the room. I have learned a lot already about teaching and what it is really like. Everything seems to be going well. I really like the teacher who's class I'm in charge of and she seems to like me a lot too! This past friday we had our Valentine party. One of my students told me that he didn't feel well. I told him to get a drink. He came back up to me and told me he felt like he was going to throw up. I wasn't too worried about him actually throwing up, but I did tell him to stand by the garbage can just in case. Luckily.....it paid off! He started throwing up and it seriously looked like a fountain the way it was arching out of his mouth. I didn't let it get to me one bit, I really had no choice though with all the kids watching. As my little first grader was thowing up, I drug the garbage can into the hall and left him there. It was the last 10 minutes of school and we had to get everything cleaned up from the party. To say the least it was very choatic and the kids were upset about seeing their friend throw up. It was a fun day, but I was happy for it to be over. After Roman threw up a few times he felt much better and was able to leave the school with his other classmates.
Well, I have five more weeks to go, wish me luck.
Along with my student teaching that takes up 40 hours of my week, I still have my uvu classes every Wednesday night for 4 hours. Not to mention teaching gymnastics Tuesday and Thursday until 6:45. And there is my church calling every monday night where I try to teach advanced high school students how to do their math.

So to sum things up, I don't know if I have ever been more busy. It's been a lot of fun and the weeks are flying by. It will be nice when April 8th comes and I have basically nothing to do unitl May first when we move to Philadephia for another summer of Kory selling security systems.

Marianne, I copied and sent this blog entry to Jill, figuring that you're WAY too busy to write to her, and wanting her to be able to keep up with your goings-on. Then today I get an email from her asking me to thank you for the wonderful birthday email she got from you this week! She's sorry about your grandpa, she wishes you well in all your activities, and she thanks you for writing. Her mother thanks you too! You sure have a lot going on and you sound really happy - good for you! Hello to Kory! Sorry to use your blog to write you - I don't have your phone number...
